I have a great opportunity to join a corporation that really fits "me" and how I intend to play the game; unfortunately, I found out from my friend who is recruiting me that they are actually stationed in 0.0 space, about 40+ jumps away from where I am now. I'm all for 0.0, but I only have just under 2 million skillpoints right now, so I feel as if perhaps I am not "ready" and will get chewed up and spit out if I even think of venturing there.
My other concerns are that I may not be able to run missions or do things alone when I need some downtime to just putter around. I understand it takes the game to a whole new level, and I'm so wanting that, but is it too early?

I always have this vision of 0.0 as being swarming with pirates and gankers at gates, but the funny thing is if you look at the map with the "last ships destroyed in 24 hours" you see only 1 or 2 here and there in certain spots. I guess that those are heavily allied territories that are protected by the corporations that own them.
I am OK with losing things, just don't know how to earn money way out there with such a low amount of skillpoints invested into the character. It's not like I can just run out there and kill NPC pirates all day.
I think my primary problem is I view these MMOs as being linear. I see starting out at level 1 and working my way to level 50. There's none of that here, so I think I need to get over it :)

Yeah my current ship is a Rupture and it's not that my skills are poor, but my knowledge of how to run around out there sucks :P
The corp I'm applying for provides everything for its members, so hopefully when I get out there, I can grab a cheap little ship and go explore.

Hmmm so I probably shouldn't use implants for a while lol :)
I guess it would also be really stupid of me to run out there in my ship packed up with all of my goodies. I should leave them where I'm at now, which is in Rens? If I went out there in a shuttle, it's less likely to be a problem of ganking me for my goods.
